"Rita is a truly professional evaluator and grant writer with a social work background. I've known her for several years but have worked with her recently as a sub-contractor during an organizational review/management support engagement for a local nonprofit. After six months of working closely with her - I have come to greatly appreciate Rita's style as well as her substance. Rita’s strengths include: being thorough, incredible integrity, solid writing that is more practical than academic, being direct - although pleasant, conducting one-to-one interviews and meetings, and finding useful and relevant research. She's great at creating charts/graphs, determining current and potential client pathways, is comfortable with diverse people, doesn't miss deadlines, asks questions, is communicative and actually cares about her clients. She shares her process and is always inclusive of input from others. Rita has a rounded presence in the nonprofit sector as a professional, a leader (Founder and President, Child Abuse Prevention Endowment Fund for Calhoun County) and a community volunteer, so she understands a variety of settings from different perspectives. She's a multiple-term Board Member of the Michigan Association for Evaluation and clearly maintains her professional development. I like her a lot, and was pleased to work with her, and would do so again. She definitely goes beyond if she thinks the situation calls for it. I can highly recommend Rita's work, not just refer her.
Michelle Frank, Entrepreneur, CEO of Experience Count and CEO of The Mermaid Affair
"Our organization, Muskegon Volunteer for Dental Care, hired Rita to evaluate our program methodology and data collection as required by a large grant we had received. Rita provided us with a very thorough report through her ability to interview and collect the important information we needed. She was able to evaluate the program fairly and give us the insight we needed to move forward! I highly recommend Rita to anyone needing an independent evaluator!”
Jackie Balcom Lindrup RDH, MEd, Director MVDC
"Rita seems to have a natural ability to understand an organization and its inner workings. To problem solve root causes and simplify the solutions. She can find relevant information even in chaos. Our organization is very grassroots from staff to structure and not typical. Rita found evaluation tools and processes that not only worked well with our programming but was also very easy for staff to work with.”
Teresa Momenee-Young, Executive Director of Woman’s Co-op, Battle Creek, Michigan, USA
"Rita has extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations in the area of evaluation. Evidence of her abilities is found in the fact that many of her clients ask her to work with them again. I have found that she is always learning new things in her area of expertise. I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend her."
